Overview

babaBERRY is a specialty food company based in Colorado that offers organic, freeze-dried smoothie powders targeted at older adults and their families. The founder's story was personal; the product originated from preparing daily superfood smoothies for a 95-year-old grandmother. The branding had to reflect that narrative.

Design

The project involved developing packaging and a website concept, both prototyped in Adobe XD. For the packaging, each of the three flavors received a unique color scheme — purple for berry, orange for citrus, and green for the veggie blend — and featured fresh fruit photography on a clean white pouch. The heart-shaped logo unified the line while maintaining visual distinction among variants. The website concept started with the founder's story before showcasing the product. It opened with a full-bleed image of a grandmother and daughter sharing smoothies, then presented the personal origin story in the client's words. The scroll then displayed the product range, with each flavor section color-coordinated to its packaging. The tone was warm and accessible, targeting families shopping for elderly relatives rather than a trend-focused wellness audience.

Outcome

A concept prototype covering desktop and mobile layouts, along with a three-flavor packaging system.
