TxtMyDoc

Overview

TxtMyDoc is a mobile app that helps patients manage their healthcare in one place, including messaging doctors, tracking medications, scheduling appointments, and storing records for the entire family.

Challenge

Most healthcare apps in 2014 were built for providers, not patients. TxtMyDoc needed to feel approachable enough for daily personal use while handling genuinely complex data: multiple family members, multiple physicians, secure messaging, and medication histories all in a single account.

Solution

The navigation centered on three persistent tabs (Messages, Doctors, and Medications) so users always knew where they were. From there, patients could switch between family member profiles, search for physicians by name, specialty, or location, view prescription details with pharmacy information and refill status, and review appointment history alongside their message threads.

The visual language was teal on neutral gray with enough personality to feel consumer-grade, enough restraint to fit a medical context.

Outcome

A full screen-by-screen prototype covering the entire patient journey from login to medication tracking, ready for developer handoff and user testing.
